After Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 now already almost is a year on the market, the Koreans the successor named Galaxy Tab have now introduced 3 . The previously known Specifications provide some disillusionment because great strides over its predecessor are not in sight. The improvements apparently limited mainly to a lower weight and a slightly faster processor.
The maximum clock of the dual-core SoC in the Galaxy Tab 7.0 3 has been increased over its predecessor by 200 MHz to 1.2 GHz, the processor type is not yet known. The weight was reduced from 345 grams with the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 to about 300 grams with the new model.
Most other specifications are, however, remained unchanged. The display has still only 1,024 x 600 pixels and is no longer with a pixel density of 169 ppi entirely on the amount of time. The remaining case of a GB of RAM memory expansion but also today and should not represent a bottleneck in the near future. The battery still has a capacity of 4,000 mAh, which does not necessarily mean that the operating time has remained the same, because the new Galaxy Tab 3 could well benefit from smaller manufacturing processes and advances in display technology. The camera resolution was slightly reduced from 3.2 to 3.0 MP. The operating system Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is used on the Samsung sets its proprietary TouchWiz interface. A slot for micro SD cards with a capacity of up to 64GB is available again.
So far, only photos of a white Galaxy Tab 3 were sighted, which comes in the same polycarbonate optics such as the 8.0 rating. But it will probably give the tablet again in black. This results expected eight variants will be available with either 8 or 16 GB of flash memory, with or without UMTS (3G) and in black or white.
pure wireless models will appear in May 2013, according to Samsung, the UMTS variants appear as usual, a little later, the talk is of June. At the prices Samsung has been silent so far. Due to the thin hardware equipment and the expected competition, the Koreans would be well advised not to enter here again too high.
