Asus MeMo Pad
With a PXA986 Samsung is different than, say, the Galaxy Tab 8.0 3 not on a SoC manufactured in-house. The PXA986 is made of Bermudian manufacturer Marvell, which so far is almost completely unknown in the field of mobile processors. Asus MeMo Pad HD sets at 7 on a chip from the Chinese shop Mediatek. The MT8125 used is installed in a variety of tablets and offers a decent multimedia performance. Compared with the PXA986 from the Galaxy Tab offers the MT8125 depending on the application field of up to 20 percent more power. In the field of gaming, the Asus MeMo Pad HD 7 is clearly even before the Samsung Galaxy Tab latter crashes some games from the start and also the graphics performance is not sufficient. Especially in recent games so no game comes on. The MeMo Pad HD 7 is indeed by far not a graphics wonder most games run with medium graphic details but satisfactory.

Asus MeMo Pad
On paper, the battery capacity same nearly perfect. The difference in duration thus appears to depend on the economy of the installed components. The Asus tablet offers on paper up to 10 hours, the Samsung Galaxy Tab only 8 hours of run time. In normal daily use both tablets should thus come loose over a day. For occasional use, the battery should also provide for a term of up to 2 or 3 days. If you look at the battery life but under full load at which is achieved in part when gaming, the MeMo Pad lasts much longer than it does by the challenger from the house of Samsung. Experience reports after is possible by holding the Galaxy Tab already after 3 hours of closing, the Asus tablet is up to 5 hours.

Asus MeMo Pad
Also with the Android version used, the MeMo Pad HD 7 quite easily in the lead. But the difference between Android 4.1 and Android 4.2.2 with the Galaxy Tab with the Asus tablet will notice few users. In contrast, however, it turns out at the interfaces used. Samsung relies on its own interface “TouchWiz”, which clearly differs from Google’s “Vanilla Android”. So many Samsung’s own apps like the voice control “S Voice” are pre-installed, which will allow the user a better operation of the tablet. Asus, however, is almost completely on the pure Android interface. Only some apps like the drawing program “ASUS Artist” are pre-installed. The biggest difference in the software is probably in the “Multi-User Mode”, which the MeMo Pad support thanks to Android version 4.2.2. This makes it possible to create multiple user profiles, so each user can customize the tablet as he wishes to.
Conclusion
In our comparison of the MeMo Pad HD 7 from Asus in cuts as good as each category better than the Galaxy Tab 7.0 3 from the house of Samsung. Does that make it even better for the final tablet? Yes and no. Of course, the Asus tablet offers better equipment: The display is sharper, the processor is faster and also the software used is not quite as dusty. However, the Galaxy Tab is not bad: Samsung has brought here a decent 7-inch tablet on the market that integrates perfectly into any already existing Samsung ecosystem. For example, it is possible to reproduce the tablet on a Samsung TV pictures and videos. The MeMo Pad is the ideal device for those who like to watch movies on the tablet, now and want to play something or would like to surf the Internet – the better display here is the crux. But even as a family tablet, the device is thanks to the “Multi-User Mode” better than the competitor from Samsung. This is only recommended if you already own several units of the South Korean manufacturer. It does not really bad, the Memo Pad HD 7 but makes almost everything better. For a price of 145 euros (Asus) and 130 euros (Samsung) both tablets are but definitely useful.
