Samsung Galaxy missed the S5 LTE-A and QHD – Computer Base

In the variant Galaxy S5 LTE-A Samsung missed the current flagship not only more data throughput in the download but also a qHD screen and the Snapdragon 805 The design remains against the Galaxy S5, however, unchanged. The variant is to a great extent the alleged Galaxy S5 Prime before.

rumors about a more technically-equipped variant of S5 in metal housing talked last stubborn. In addition to the new exterior of the “Prime” version will also offer the high resolution of 1,440 × 2,560 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805. Not be ruled out that the Galaxy has S5 Prime superfluous with presentation of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A. The premium version of the flagship could rather come under the name Galaxy F on the market and settle in this way also the name heavily on S5.

Since even the Galaxy S5 with a maximum of 150 Mbit / s in LTE Sparks-A-Net, are the additional designation “LTE-A” major change to the basic model, not again. However, accelerated the built-in new smartphone modem that is not integrated into the Snapdragon 805 download up to 225 Mbit / s – provided an appropriate network. Whether Samsung uses technology from Intel with the modem, can not be confirmed at the hour. The new Galaxy Tab 8.4 and 10.5 S, however, rely on Intel’s XMM modem 7160th To 225 Mbit / s to achieve, LTE-A, however, would have the Galaxy S5 variant XMM 7260 are used.

In addition to the screen, SoC and modem also highlights three-gigabyte memory from the new version of the four month old base model. All other technical data and dimensions are, however, identical. For the time being remains the smartphone customers in South Korea reserved.

Last year, Samsung had the Galaxy S4 “LTE-A” variant set aside, which also offered a faster SoC. At that time, the model raised the maximum possible bandwidth of the base version of 100 Mbit / s to 150 Mbit / s – time for the start of the LTE-A network in South Korea. Instead of the Snapdragon S4 Galaxy 600 in came the Snapdragon 800 for use. At IFA 2013, this version appeared as Galaxy S4 + LTE also in Germany.
