Comparison: Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 vs. 3 Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 – TabletHype.de

With the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 was presented in late April, the successor to the hugely popular Galaxy Tab 8.0 3. In this comparison, we now want to uncover the differences between the two tablets and especially into this, which currently owns the equipment the better price / performance ratio.



Display

When you installed the display Samsung has not made any changes. Both Galaxy Tabs have here a display diagonal of 8-inch and are therefore among the mid-size tablets. The resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels going at this size just so fine a FullHD panel would have been desirable, however. The capacity of the installed batteries, Samsung has also kept the same. 4450 mAh care at two tablets for a decent run time, the Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 should hold due to the current-efficient processor a little longer. The units survive even with heavy use at least a day with moderate use it should even extend the Galaxy Tabs at intervals of several days to recharge.

Since the end of June released update to Android 4.4.2 for the KitKat Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.0 3 is the Android version, no difference between the two devices. The tablets are therefore based on the latest version of the Android operating system and therefore have all the necessary functions. Although likely Samsung’s own interface called TouchWiz on the Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 in a newer version available, many functions will not miss a buyer Galaxy Tab 8.0 3 yet. The biggest difference here is the update guarantee. Samsung is the Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 certainly provide with an update on the upcoming Android version Android L, the Galaxy Tab 8.0 3 should be left open to sitting on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Conclusion

With the Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 Samsung has brought a worthy successor of the Galaxy Tab 8.0 3 on the market. Although the differences in some categories are only marginally, the overall picture, however, was bolstered properly. In particular, the significantly higher processor performance is likely to make the new Samsung tablet for many people interesting. Gaming is possible to a certain degree and the operator easily goes to the menu of the hand. Nevertheless, the transition from the previous hardly worth well. This provides for everyday tasks still a decent performance and, in some points even with the Galaxy Tab 8.0 4 match.
