Design & amp; Processing
The first thing that strikes you when you take the Samsung Galaxy Alpha in the hand, the metal edges. They are really stylish and feel great, though occasionally sharp. The device is also quite easy.
As with the Touch 4 aluminum edge on the headset input on the Alpha is sublime. And the matte finish on the front is well known. Right is the power button, the volume rocker on the left. Both felt at quite resilient. At the bottom there is a speaker that sounds much better than the score of 4 or Galaxy S5. There are also microphone and the USB port.
The back of the S5 looks like even if the holes are a bit more delicate than the S5 sticking plaster look. For me it felt much better and higher quality than the S5. The Galaxy Alpha also has the advantage that it really is operable with one hand, even if you do not have big hands. The small thickness of 6.7 millimeters and the light weight of 115 grams do the rest for comfortable handling.
Display
The screen has a diagonal of 4.7 inches. The colors are rendered bright and clean. The edge was still thin compared to the S5. Another detail that enhances the elegance of the Alpha.
The Galaxy Alpha works with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The viewing angles are decent, considering that in screening rooms, the light is quite problematic. But in general the picture is very sharp and bright.
Software
The Alpha Galaxy runs with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and the latest TouchWiz edition. It takes a few S5 functions with S as Health or private mode. Unfortunately I could not elaborate on the software myself. But the first impression is everything will behave as with the Galaxy S5. Also, the Alpha is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, which rests on the Home button.
Performance
In the heat of the moment I could do any real tests with the device. The Exynos 5430-Octa-Core consists of two quad cores with 4 x 1.8 and 4 x 1.3 GHz, with 2 gigabytes of memory available to the side. When zapping through the menus to me but no delay was on.
Camera
The 12-megapixel camera uses the same software as the S5. So you open the camera app on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, you will also find the same modes before: real-time HDR and much more Einstellungsmöglickeiten. Photo lovers are the alpha credit for.
In my short test, the HDR camera worked reliably, albeit not as fast as the S5. On the image quality, we go in a later test more accurate one.
Battery
The battery issue I can not clarify exhaustively after a brief hands-on. The only 1860 mAh large energy storage was filled at the beginning of my 15-minute short tests to 37 percent, behind only 34 percent charge remained.
Technical specifications
Preliminary judgment
Samsung has made it clear that the Alpha is designed for style-conscious consumers. I was convinced and can vouch for screen design and interface. The Galaxy Alpha sits well in the hand and is comfortable to use. Coupled with the classy finish it should provide enough selling points for many of you.
